Victorian Day
We celebrated Churchfields 150th Anniversary today by travelling back in time to experience school life in Victorian England. The Nursery and Reception children learned how life was different long ago and looked at old toys, sang nursery rhymes and played circle games. The Year 1 and Year 2 children had a session in a Victorian schoolroom complete with slates, rote chants and very strict teachers who believed that, "Children should be seen and not heard." They also took part in a playtime PE drill. As ever, our pupils' behaviour was magnificent - Queen Victoria would have been most impressed!
