Tours of the School

We encourage prospective parents to visit us, so you can decide if this is the school for your child. We deliberately host our tours during the school day so you can really see our school in action. You will be able to meet the Headteacher, listen to a short presentation and ask questions.

Tours of the school take place between October and December each year, for parents of children starting Reception the following September.  Details of how to book will be posted on this page nearer the time.

Admission to Nursery

Please take a look at our nursery prospectus by clicking on the following link Nursery Prospectus

Churchfields Nursery has 75 spaces (15 morning, 15 afternoon and 45 full-time).  Children are admitted into our Nursery in the academic year of their 4th birthday.  In certain circumstances we may be able to admit children to our Nursery in the school term after their third birthday.  This is only IF there are spaces available.

Tours of the nursery take place between October and December each year, for parents of children starting nursery the following September.  Details of how to book will be posted on this page nearer the time.

Applications for Nursery places must be made directly to the school using the application form below.  Please either print the form and bring it into the main school office, or complete it electronically and email it back to the school via our admissions email address: admissions@churchfieldsinfants.redbridge.sch.uk.  Please note, we do not accept admissions outside of the application period.

All parents are entitled to 15 hours of free Early Years education for their child each week (i.e. 5 sessions of 3 hours per day for 38 weeks).  Some parents may be eligible for 30 hours of free Early Years education.

Please refer to the following guidance should you have queries on eligibility and accessing the funding. Please do not apply for funding before your child's 3rd birthday as it will give an ineligible result.

Eligibility and Accessing Funding

For children attending the nursery 30 hours a week (i.e. both sessions with a break for lunch) we make a small charge for lunchtime supervision.  Currently, this charge is £6 per day (£30 per week).

If you are not eligible for 30 hours funding but wish for your child to take up a 30 hour place, you must be prepared to pay for the additional 15 hours a week.  Currently, this charge is £20 per day (£100 per week).

The statutory right to appeal does not apply to admission to nursery.

Please note, a place in nursery DOES NOT guarantee that your child will be admitted to the main school.   You will need to apply for a Reception place between 1 September and 15 January, the year before your child is due to start school.
