Churchfields Pledge
This year, we are proud to be launching our ‘Churchfields Pledge’ and we would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little more about it, and to share a copy of the document with you too. As a school, we are proud of our enrichment offer. As part of our learning journey, we bring our curriculum to life and encourage children to engage in activities for their own personal development. This pledge captures those experiences which we consider invaluable to our pupils at Churchfields Infants’ School. These opportunities are aligned with our school vision, but also with the NHS 5 Steps to Wellbeing (2022).
A small number of these experiences have been carefully selected as our golden threads, which children will take part in every school year (such as learning a new dance, learning and performing a poem, and taking part in a performance), and others are specific to each year group (such as trying to ride a balance bike in Nursery or making a Christmas decoration in Reception).
At the start of every year, each child will have a named copy of their ‘Churchfields Pledge’ for the upcoming year (this will stay in school) and we will mark off activities as they are completed.
Whilst these are not activities we ask for parents to complete and tick off at home (as the aim is for these to be done within the school day), please do feel free to support and practise some of the skills together.
